Woodworkers have recently added the “Chateau” door to their already impressive range of European styled entries. Chateau doors are made overheight due to the elaborate carving work required on the upper face. Their stock size is 2340 x 820 x 50 manufactured in beautiful red cedar. They can be supplied with either triple glazed leadlights or hand wrought ironwork. Woodworkers Manager, Robin Ziejka revealed “the design is based on an antique door we acquired from Paris and meticulously replicated to capture its unique character. We felt with the popularity of Hamptons designs there was a niche for a door that was a little more commanding and elaborate, that evoked an authentic classical style.” The chateau door is thicker and more heavily moulded and carved than any other stock door available in Australia and is designed to enhance prestige entries. The Chateau is exclusive to The Woodworkers Company – Brisbane’s oldest joinery.
“The Chateau makes a beautiful statement about craftsmanship and timeless style that is lacking in mass produced doors”, continued Mr Ziejka, “and we get great satisfaction out of rediscovering designs like this”.
